Mike Yip has a new book!

Mike Yip, avid bird watching enthusiast and photographer, is pleased to announce his latest book, Beginner's Guide to Common Vancouver Island Birds! It is his fourth volume on his bird encounters, and a little different than his previous books.

From his website, Mike says: “Since there were no bird identification guides specifically for Vancouver Island, I decided to produce one.

Designed with visual learners in mind, it is mainly an identification guide for the many non-birders who are simply interested in the birds they encounter in their every day life. It offers not only stunning photography of over 235 birds, but also gives the specifics about each bird. This becomes very valuable when you get into the Gull’s, the more info you have the better since Vancouver Island is home to 14 varieties!

“Most of the photos are mine except for several by Melissa Hafting and singles by Steve Large and Eric Ellingson”, Mike says.

Of course, Mike couldn’t resist throwing in a few shots of some of the rare sightings he has captured, just to ramp up the interest, and maybe get you out there looking too!

This full colour, hard cover book will get you up to speed on the birds flying around outside your window!
