Ricky Belanger

I am a Marine Biologist hailing from nowhere else but the grand Canadian Pacific Northwest.

Underwater photography has been a passion since a very young age, beginning with waterproof film cameras and moving into full-fledged DSLR equipment. I take great pleasure in combining my professional skills as a biologist and science communicator, with my photography portfolio, to produce a myriad of creative, educational, and sustainable pieces of artwork. This includes an educational colouring book, vinyl stickers, embroidered patches, art cards, and more!

Ricky is also curator at the Campbell River Discovery Passage Aquarium.

With his desire to share his wealth of ocean knowledge and experiences as an underwater photographer, Ricky has created a "fun-for-all-ages" colouring book based on his own photographs, as well as educational extras, like iron-on patches of ocean creatures. Each patch comes with a QR code that can be scanned for more information.

My goal is to take the reader of this book on a journey, and to educate and inspire advocacy for protecting our beautiful oceans, their inhabitants and our future.
