Nick Knuit
Nick has been carving one medium or another since he was 10, when his blacksmithing father gave him a super-heated piece of metal and a piece of wood to keep him out of his hair.
Thus, his career as a carver was launched. He specializes in moose antler (Canadian ivory) carvings, featuring mainly native flora and fauna. As he doesn't hunt, hunter friends give him their unwanted antlers. He has also carved fallow deer antlers, some stone and some wood. (His fantasy-land wooden door is spectacular.)
Nick and his wife live on Quadra Island, where he has a studio, gallery and a garden full of flowers, vegetables and driftwood.
