Artist Notes: During 42 years of fishing the west coast, my Grandfather collected glass fishing floats. Some of his collection was passed on tome and I used them to teach myself how to break and reconstruct them using stained glass techniques. Each candle holder is unique, the design determined by the way the fishing float breaks. Wrapped in locally harvested bull kelp, sometimes complimented with beach combed shells, it rests on a ring of dried kelp. The ultimate in recycling and an original west coast treasure.
Designed and handcrafted in Errington on Vancouver Island.
