David Kasprick : Red Cod Forge

I am forever drawn to the BC Coast; it is very raw and rugged, just like the medium I have chosen for my art.

Dave spent many years working in the fishing industry. From deck work to skippering, rigging to fabricating and welding. He didn’t know these were the building blocks for becoming an artist, blacksmith and metal sculptor.

After a serious motorcycle accident in 2005, Dave had to leave the sea life … which led him to explore his deep down, raw artistic talent.

His forged metal sculptures and gates, garden art, and custom railings turn hard steel into flowing and organic forms. To say that Dave is passionate about his work and community is an understatement. He is motivated by the strength of his community and finding ways he can contribute.

The forms I deal with mostly come from the nature just outside my door.
