Daune Yochim

It's hard to describe how much I enjoy my craft. The fabrics in my hand, the calmness of quietly stitching.

Daune was looking for more texture and softer tones in her projects, which led her to Japanese fabrics and patterns and techniques. Everything is done by hand!

Each piece has a theme that helps Daune build the colour scheme and character. Once the pattern and fabrics are chosen, the pieces are appliquéd, quilted and stitched together.

I stay in touch online and through books, with Japanese Quilters. I’m still learning.

I’m always surprised at how exciting a new project can be. I’m always planning one or two ahead.
