Barbara Gallo Design

I have always been passionate about visual arts, exploring various creative practices throughout my career – including decorative painting, faux finishing, fabric dyeing, sewing, weaving, textile design, and pattern making. 

I launched my A Stroke of Genius business in 1997 as a decorative painter, offering faux finishes and murals to my clients throughout the Greater Vancouver area.  After working on the PNE Prize Homes from 2001 through 2011, my business grew into a full-service interior design studio. 

After 25 years of transforming homes with elevated interior design, I felt called to return to my roots: fabric and paint. Inspired by the tactile nature of fabric and its ability to adopt various colours, forms, and embellishments, I have come full circle. 

Living on the West Coast of Canada, I spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying all that nature has to offer. I find magic in the layered beauty, complex textures, subtle variations of colour and intricate details found in nature. I look for ways to use these elements in my Interior Design projects.  I am now offering one-of-a-kind toss cushion covers that embody the beauty found in nature through Barbara Gallo Design. 

My goal is to capture the beauty of nature and use it to create comfortable, functional designs that will enhance the interior of your home. Images of my original, mixed media artwork is printed onto fabric and made into toss cushion covers. 

Each cushion cover is a unique, functional piece of art, inspired by the beauty found in nature.
