April Lacheur :: Painter

April Lacheur is a professional, self-taught artist living in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, BC Canada. Her unique style is something she developed, using acrylic paint and ink to create bold interpretations of her love of West Coast nature.

She paints on canvas and wood, and sometime collaborates with her husband to add a dash of metal to her paintings.

April is most well known for her trees with twisting trunks and exposed roots. She aims to encourage the viewer to share and celebrate their own roots.

Inspiration for her art comes from time spent outdoors, exploring West Coast nature and the concept that humans and their communities are similar to trees and their forests, with deep roots and important connections.

Once a registered Nurse, April now works full time following her passion for art.
