From a young age I wanted to camp in our little pup tent, cook over an open fire, spend endless hours swimming in the lake in the backyard watching the sun set. My family not only introduced me to camping throughout North America they also introduced me to my first set of acrylic paints (thanks Mick).
I attended a Fine Art program at University of Manitoba and later was accepted into an interior design program. During a tour of the college the Adventure Tourism and Outdoor Recreation program caught my attention. I changed programs and began my adventure into the great outdoors.
After years of moving around like a nomad, I have found home in Cumberland on Vancouver Island. This is where the majority of my artwork has been created with the mountains, oceans, forests, adventures and multi-hued skylines becoming my subject matter. Being in nature keeps me grounded, energized and happy.
About my name...I chose this name and legally changed it over a decade ago; thanks to my mother for offering the idea to do so. Changing my name brought about another creative avenue as I have been working on a book about the subject.
