Artist Notes: I've walked the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island maybe a dozen times over the years. Every time I do, these two trees stop me in my tracks and I stand marvelling at their unique and beautiful structure molded by wind and weather and rocky ground. They are far more enchanting in my eyes, than anything offered in the cultured gardens of the world. I am happy to stand with them for a few moments every time I pass, perhaps hoping that somehow I will soak up a small bit of their wisdom.
